Behind Back to School Marketplace is a dedicated team of community leaders, volunteers, and advocates who believe every child deserves to start the school year with confidence.
Our board brings together a diverse mix of experience—from education and nonprofit leadership to local business and community engagement—all united by a shared mission to serve the families of Grays Harbor.
Each member plays a vital role in guiding our vision, supporting our growth, and ensuring we continue to make a meaningful impact year after year.

Laney Mortimeyer
President
Volunteering and giving back have always been central to who Laney is. Throughout her life, she's been fortunate to work alongside incredible organizations and individuals dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. At the heart of her service is her involvement with the Back To School Marketplace. This work is more than volunteerism—it is a true passion. She is deeply committed to ensuring that every student has the resources and confidence they need to succeed, and honored to serve alongside others who share that mission.

Kaela Ballew
Vice President / Fundraising
Kaela has served with Back to School Marketplace since 2024. After seeing the event in person for the first time, it moved her to volunteer. Kaela’s position at a local bank allows for connection to the community and experience working with chambers and non profits allows her to help organize fundraising for this meaningful cause and organization.

Danielle Meneely
Financial Manager
Danielle is the Treasurer for Back to School Marketplace. She oversees the organization’s financial management, budgeting and reporting. With experience in accounting, she is dedicated to maintaining a strong financial stewardship and supporting the nonprofit’s mission and growth.
She likes volunteering because it allows her to give back to the community, support meaningful causes and help make a positive impact on the children in our community. It’s rewarding for her to work alongside others who share the same commitment to helping people and strengthening the community.

Jane Madtson
Secretary
Jane was born and raised in Grays Harbor. It's her home and she's proud of it. She's been married for 60 years, has 2 daughters, 4 grandkids, and 6 great grandkids. She has volunteered for many organizations and loves making a difference in her community. Anytime she can help people and her community, she is always happy to do what she can to the best of her ability.

Abby Covall
Member at Large / Co-Fundraising
Abby began volunteering with the Back to School Market Place in 2024, after her husband encouraged her to volunteer her time. She has been working in local government finance for years. She is dedicated and strongly committed to serving our community. Since joining the organization, she has played an active role in supporting outreach efforts, assisting with programs and events, and helping create positive experiences. Her willingness to give her time and energy reflects her passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Randee Dunsire
Member at Large
Randee has spent her entire life in Grays Harbor, where she has built deep roots in the community and developed a strong passion for serving her neighbors. Her commitment to giving back and supporting local families has made her an active and valued member of the community for many years. Randee and her husband own a business in Aberdeen, and together they have used their resources and connections to help further the mission of the Back To School Marketplace. Through their generosity and community involvement, they continue to make a positive impact on students and families throughout the area. As a board member, Randee has been a tremendous addition to the organization. She is passionate about helping students succeed and is proud to partner with her daughter in volunteer efforts, teaching the importance of compassion, service, and giving back to the community.
